early summer ii (2019)

The first early summer was a piano trio I that I wrote about the feeling of coming home from college for the first time, full of so many new ideas and friendships and feelings and ideals—the tinge of grief at realizing that you’ve changed since your last time at home, that you’ll keep on changing, and soon enough everything that once felt so big will feel so small. The second early summer was an edited version that could be performed by real people. I was lucky enough to have three talented members of the Yale Undergraduate Chamber Orchestra perform this piece in 2022.
