Ah, Ah (2018)

I still can’t believe Joy Harjo let me set her poetry to music! This is solidly a student piece, not something I’d try to stage today, but I’m still so giddy that one of my favorite poets even responded to my email, and that this was the result. Jennifer Beattie and the late, immensely generous Adam Marks injected this recording with incredible verve and beauty.
